So choose wisely because even if the relationship didn't end up as planned but you made kids together, his presence in the life of these innocent kids are of great importance. 1) If he has ever had a pet at home:  This sounds odd but trust me it's technical. If your guy can clean the mess of a pet, feed it or take it to the veterinary when the need arises, trust me sister he can't hesitate to do same in the case of his children even if you are present at the situation or not. He will take charge of the kids well being more than you can imagine.

2) Love : To be a good father, you should be capable of showing affection. We all know children easily capture what they see and hear. If your partner takes you out on dates regularly, calls and spends time with friends and family,and isn't afraid to hold hands, then he is capable of being a loving father.

3) He Can Handle Stress: We all know how stressful and crazy kids can be and it's better to have them with someone who can handle the pressure.

4) He is Reliable: If he says he's going to do something, he needs to actually do it on a regularly basis without constantly being reminded. This is very vital because you should raise kids with someone you do trust to take care of things.

5) He makes Sacrifices for you: He cancels out his already arranged boys handouts with his friends for your friend's house warming or wedding. He works over time so he can take off for your birthday. These unselfish acts show that he's flexible and responsive and those are both qualities we want in a partner and parent.

6) The Two of You Have a Great Relationship: You've got to have the relationship first, because having kids will put a stress on you but if you are really in Love with each other, have a good communication relationship, if you really respect each other, if there's a solid friendship, and both of you want to have children, then you can.

7) He is Really Good at Putting Things Together: He can build furniture, fix the washing machine and complete household handy work on his own. These are all indicators that he will be the kind of dad who leads by example and will teach his children how to thoughtfully approach a problem and encourage them to figure things out on their own.
